Guy Martins Great British Power Trip

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

We have a bad Internet speed and it spools all the time and then often restarts from the beginning. Most other on demand services work ok but not 4. I don't think they reduce the picture quality to match the available bandwidth.
I have a life ling held dislike of adverts so appreciate your frustration. Isn't recording and watching later a godsend in that respect.
I found the new Command Centre very impressive and don't envy the guys having to make instaneous decisions on grid balancing etc with such enormous sums involved.
The wind farm section was informative to, I reckon Guy must have been panicking a bit when his foot got tangled in the safety straps when trying to escape from the submerged helicopter cabin during the training session. I certainly would!

I found it unwatchable on All4 I had issues with adverts, then the programme restarting. I'm waiting until it airs and downloading the episodes with the adverts edited out.

You only fail the submerged helicopter course if you die, otherwise the divers will give you a swift kick and pull you out- that’s a pass!

Yes I normally record everything and then watch it back but I'd not realised it was on till after it had aired.

Hi AGT, that may well be the case but in this incident they all had to repeat the exercise where we witnessed his a successful exit.
It was all very well but the cabin already had the windows missing which is where they escaped thro' which does rather leave the question of what happens if the windows are all still intact!

Many of the windows are designed so they can be removed quickly in the event of a ditching on water.

Here is an interesting post on grid inertia (while demolishing an old power station).

Then he starts driving an electric transit van. He's less than keen. I note that in one of his books, he said he forbids passengers from drinking as he doesn't like toilet stops on long journeys, so this isn't for him.

The bus tour bit was ok. Playing with the dogs dragged on a bit too long

Unfortunately I know, spend many a long hour sitting next to a 30 stone blob who was sitting at the escape window.

Now it’s a 10 mile, 20 minute commute.
