3x new EVs spotted

#1

Post by dan_b »

Well that was an interesting drive to work today. Spotted the following on UK road for the first time

Toyota BZ4X AWD - huge, angular, grey, ugly
Genesis GV60 - quite distinctive, especially in bright yellow - looks nicer than its cousin the Kia EV6
VW iD5 - huge, blobby, looks like an overweight iD4, which itself looks like an overweight iD3. Bland.

Also saw a brand new Model Y Performance on the back of a trailer being towed by an enormous Ford Pickup truck. Not sure what that was all about!

It's good that more types of EVs are on the road generally of course.

Toyota BZ4X AWD - huge, angular, grey, ugly "we bet the house on hybrids" so this design was from the bottom of the cats litter tray
Genesis GV60 - quite distinctive, especially in bright yellow - looks nicer than its cousin the Kia EV6 ..committed to EV
VW iD5 - huge, blobby, looks like an overweight iD4, which itself looks like an overweight iD3. Bland. ..Don't wan't to make ev, various lies caught us with our pants down, we were like sony, couldn't see the future, lost, eternal humiliation so much time to make up for, in-house fighting, "has been"

Was the busyforks having it's wheels put back on, or at a charger, charging really slowly? ;)

I also saw a Genesis GV60 last week whilst walking the doggo. Threw me completely as I saw the green stripe on the numberplate, but couldn't place the car as it came towards me. For a weird second I thought that the badge was a Bentley (further confusing my brain given the green stripe). Then it went past and I saw the Genesis name. Quite pretty.

Talking about VW, looks like they will be releasing the ID.2 on the existing (limited) MEB platform, in 2025(ish). Such a shame they fired Herbert Diess, and decided to slow down the development of the Trinity platform. I'm not sure if they can be profitable on the MEB platform, especially now that they are going head to head with Tesla, with TM3 prices similar to ID.3, and TMY similar to ID.4.

Busyforks?!
No it was wafting along at about 51mph in lane three of the 4 lane M3 with empty lanes inside it and generally being in the way. He's probably worried about range.

Yep busyforks - BZ4X, did you miss it getting its nickname when it was launched as nobody could remember the correct name, or was that just me.

Also you can by it with a Lexus badge for an extra £10k or so.

Aaah that's actually quite funny!

Also you can soon buy it with a Subaru badge on it and called the Solterra. Apparently has the same "wheels falling off" problem the BusyForks had at launch.
