Are you guys all former electricians

Managed to trip the fuse board yesterday in the in day adjustment window, whilst on my way out, luckily, as swmbo, would not have done anything to reset it and I would have missed out on 20kWh use.
Then as Swmbo Refused to eat dinner outside the 6:30-7:30 window I had to cook dinner during that period using 2 induction jobs and the oven, which I managed to do using batteries( my inverter only allow just over 2.6kw) so quite tricky when the feeder tank to the heat pumps tops itself up but managed it.
Then with 20 mins to go I noticed my usage increasing and realised I had forgotten to switch the timer off for the central heating. I could have switched the heat pumps off at the cut off but not too keen to mess around with them. So ended up using 0.75kwh from the grid

I get a bit jittery about the adjustment window as a blew the 60 amp fuse in November at 21400w it’s now an 80 amp fuse, still waiting for the electrician to swap the sub main to a 100 amp, so when I’m using 18-22kwh I get a bit twitchy

Probably, I think Utilita have only had one onboarding session,

But that begs the question will there be two more test sessions later in this final month as new onboarded providers are guaranteed another 2 test sessions in their first month and I have never seen a test session (non onboarding) for only a subset of providers.

Only an onboarding session confirmed, but that may mean another two sessions might still be on the cards.

Another heads up for a possible test session tomorrow Thurs 23rd. I note the last "onboarding" session for two new suppliers was their second (and last) one, so more chance of a normal test event tomorrow.

So look back here at around 2.30 this afternoon for an update.

Test event between 18.30 and 19.30 tomorrow 23rd March with a 300MW requirement.

Boom, almost certain Octopus will be in it, head back here at 4.30PM to find out for certain.

marshman wrote: Wed Mar 15, 2023 11:51 pm You need to check ALL the cells at the same time. One cell could be up at 3.7 V and most of the others still below 3.5V. hence why Pylons were still charging.

I did comment in another thread that if you are relying on a balancing board alone and have no BMS then the balance board needs a current capability to mach the max charge current to catch a "runaway" cell. Though that us just my view🙂
Good point, I will check this. Cheers!
Just a quick note of thanks to Marshman. We had enough solar today to monitor the top few percent of charge. It turns out that there were two things happening. Firstly the blue lcd gauge showing cell voltage is inaccurate at the top end while current is flowing. By as much as 0.06V but more average being 0.04V. The cells themselves were all within 0.01V of each other but the Victron unit was set too high for cutoff. I've wound it back a bit and I'm retesting. Looking better already.
Thanks again.

I understand where you are coming from on the bms load shifting capacity but I did see the pylontechs shutdown in parameters today and hopefully with the Victron cutting out a little earlier we won't see high voltages again. Never a dull moment in RE land!
