I love smoked fish but kedgeree just doesn't work for me, always a source of dismay, probably stems from milk soaked fish in my youth or something.

12 minutes in the air fryer at 204 is the wifes preference but whilst nice a bit dry, still flakey good enough for flaking & a tub of plain rice,
Hammered a whole head of steamed broccolli by myself tonight, tiny bit of chili salt ..delicious

Have you air fryed banana slices yet joe? (caramelisation)

We had butchers burgers on crisped rolls with, bacon, cheese and raw red onion last night along with chips sprinkled with pirri pirri salt. Onion and sweetcorn relish too. All in the airfryer (apart from the relish), absolutely effortless and tasted wonderful . To cook in a conventional oven now feels like we are somehow being robbed!

It's weird, coming from aga's in the family the stewed / braised meat etc was regular manna to me, whilst I still adore a good meaty meal since cutting back on the meat it's much less important to me to have these days.
Rice with lemon ponzu twice today & a sous vide salad loaded veggie burger.

It was the last two veggie burgers (one apiece) & my only thought was when will there next be a deal on these in costco ..freezers full of meat, charcuterie that needs eating.. just not wanting it despite needing to clear a freezer.

Ditto, this evening got some delicious gammon that i'd made (well, pig did their part too) & sliced on the berkel (a meat eaters dream kit) took it out of the freezer for tomorrow gammon egg crinkle chips ..& my thoughts were on the local eggs.

Peculiar, is it an age related thing?

Kicking back on this dreich Sunday afternoon, a mere 660W coming in via PV. No matter, cooked a chicken curry on the WBS also using it as a tumbledryer and heat source.

Watching Witcher on Netflix and the batteries went in controller for soundbar. Luckily I've invested in AA & AAA rechargeable batteries so a guiltfree battery changeout that won't trouble the recycling dept. I really like these wee victories. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but a repeatable small miracle.



The incoming PV hS now dropped to 500W but as we're rigged right thats enough to run lights, charge phone (and the AA's) plus tickle the home battery stack. Dont get me wrong, I love it when it's huge numbers on the gauges bouncing off the limits but this slowly, slowly still ain't touching the grid vibe is more appealing. There must be an assetic component in my genes.

Today I had an excellent time bringing a solid 3 drawer pine, bunfoot bedside cabinet back from the paintspattered, dirty neglected, dented edge I found it on. A seriously heavy, quality bit of furniture(£5).

The chair(£2) will take longer, it's an old one, dowelled frame. Three joints setting on it as i type. There was just something about the front and the finial that I liked. No landfill or burn pile for these although tbh the chair is as close as I've seen!
