Not sure if this is a good idea or not, but the heat pump is topping up the feeder tank, through the day, which I assume doesn’t really need topping up if I’m not using any heating….
Is a heat pump like a car's air conditioning system? I believe that it needs to be run periodically to lubricate the seals or something, I'm sure my son was told the reason his refrigerant had disappeared was because he hadn't run it.

The compressor in a heat pump will be a sealed unit whereas the one in a car (ICE) AC unit is normally shaft driven from the engine and has seals on the shaft.

I had a problems with my ashp, after turning it off for the summer (at the isolator).

Ever since, it stays in on but with no demand, and has been fine on that front.

I might find it something to do in the summer.
We make 10kw solar 13kw wind, some bread and lots of beer.
We grow & cook loads.
We eat Fibre, Fat & no Fecking barcodes.
We swear at the heat pump (not strictly true)
