It might just be the way its written but this looks like a step forward to me.

'Once operational, the green electricity from the offshore wind farm will be supplied to their homes, via the national grid.'

That's different from the current model.
19.7kW PV SE, VI, HM, EN & DW
Ripple 7kW WT & Gen to date 19MWh
42kWh LFPO4 storage
95kWh Heater storage
12kWh 210ltr HWT.
73kWh HI5
Deep insulation, air leak ct'd home
Zoned GCH & Hive 2
WBSx2
Low energy bulbs
Veg patches & fruit trees

Too subtle for me! Do you mean that the coop members get the electrons and have to pay the grid transport bit, but as it is "their own turbine" like on on someone's own farm they don't have to pay the green levy bit?

Yes, as we are now we are paid a price per kWh which offsets against company power bill. The quote (to my hopeful mind) removes that step and makes it a cleaner transaction.

There is a story here 9 days ago without mention of Ripple.

https://renews.biz/71058/nextgen-consor ... twind-bid/

The way I read the latest tie up with Ripple, is some of the capacity being built could be sold via Ripple's customer platform. Ripple is just a tiny company, the other in the Nextgen Consortium are big boys with serious financial backing.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Pure conjecture on my behalf yet 'piano piano'. Might be closer to a true microgen ethos and trade rather than this 1st yet still good Ripple step.

Imagine a platform where you could set the price to sell the power you generated on the offshore turbine. You could literally set your price and even be a good guy and sell those kWh's at cost+gen+transfer+(%)? Wouldn't have to be a price gouge alas has been recently happening. I like that idea! :)

Maybe 10 years hence there could be phone app instant contract trading floor where you can buy/sell your hour by hour Amps on personal 60 minute contracts. I'd trade on that. you'd want to own shares in the trading house too though.

That stuffs all there already in other forms why not us and this?

If it wasn't multiple then it (the "T") wouldn't be an "F" would it?

Mmmmmmm, so its either that Offshore consortium they have joined or I know that Clean Earth Energy have planning permission for several (cannot remember how many offhand) near John O Groats, as well as the single 4.3MW one in Aberdeenshire.

I assumed it would be the one in Aberdeenshire, but now maybe not. Near John O Groats would probably be windier !

Interesting she is saying it will be cheaper !, especially with the increase in commodity costs, concrete, steel, etc.
