Hi Stinsy,
After some research it’s indeed the CP conductor that makes most sense to switch and not the contactor coil I was initially planning to switch
Appreciate the info.

CP terminal removed from socket and diverted to Shelly
Schedule programmed in for 00:40 to 04:30 every day

Just in time, as I’m off work next week and generally charge there.

So can confirm that the Shelly worked and the car took 23.1kWh and was fully charged, last night was the first home car charge with the Shelly in use.

Was a bit concerned as the BT app showed a poor Wi-Fi connection but all good in the end.

Also fitted a ring mains powered stick up camera too, been busy

Heaters now off.

Got another single brick heater to fit in the summer house later.
Ordered another 4 smart sockets to automate/energy monitor more stuff- maybe the kids PC and Xbox
Also dabbling in Wi-Fi thermometers to start getting more data as i improve the fabric of the building

Enjoying the 21 deg big lounge temperature. No WBS on tonight Stinsy (thank you for the perspective shake).

Two of 800W singles hidden away within a three room open U that can be closed off via two doors.

Quite Surreal as the sun is almost gone yet the days solar gains are slow emitting from incredibly inexpensive thermal stores.

These wee fellas soak up ALL solar excess generated at this latitude. House is big enough that we can chuck a lot into it and be comfortable 👌

Working out nicely! :D

Now changed from octopus go to intelligent so an extra 2 hours for the storage heaters, towel rail heater etc.

Got 8 Wi-Fi temp sensors to help monitor the temps
Let’s me see current temps to determine off peak schedules

Up where we are it was into Jan before I thought of using GCH and tbh I did it due to the massive price differential In the fuels at the time. (Gas was 1.65p per kWh).

Going to try and hold onto my principles this Winter though. Hence the recently reworked WBS to not rob any room heat for the combustion process. I'm pretty sure the SH's can get us through but when swmbo says gas on I've got to appreciate all she puts up with and get on with it! Glad to hear you have a good bit of automation going there AGT, looking forward to hearing how it goes in the cold months.

Last winter was a no brainier for electric heat in our house. Gas was 10p/kWh off-peak electric was 7.5p/kWh. Once you take into account the inefficiency of my gas boiler it was even more compelling.

This coming winter off-peak electric is likely to still be 7.5p/kWh but gas is likely to be below 3p/kWh so gas will be cheaper than off-peak electric.

My gas and off peak electricity are the same rate, the fact they retain heat for so long is the deciding factor for me.

Also sorted 4m3 of hardwood for the woodburner so going to try more of an effort to use that rather than burn any gas

Not been able to find another creda TSR 6 so short term added an old oil filled heater we already had that was taking up space in the loft.

I previously bought a 4 pack of smart plugs back in April so it was good to find them too, so no outlay and another heater added to the off peak consumption!
