Even higher solar peak today at 8.76GW but still over 1GW away from the record.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Maybe another record gone today ?

Carbon intensity was 32g / kWh at 4pm today.
https://carbonintensity.org.uk/

I think the UK record was still 39g / kWh Easter Monday 5th April in 2021.

Easter seems to be the only time this goes with low demand coupled with high wind and solar.

It's blowy out there for sure, but strangely enough some "oil/other" seems to be being burned?

Midday (GMT) generation today around 8.47GW verses the record of 9.89GW set midday (GMT) on 22/04/2021.
So we are due for one.

Edit - The max solar today has been revised upwards to 8.56GW.
That's interesting, why do you think it is so high in April rather than peaking in June?

Also how does energy numbers get their estimate of solar PV? I sent the grid 6.2 today and haven't found anyone in the street that has an EV to park here on a sunny day.

You need cooler temperatures for peak generation, panels have a negative temperature coefficient of Pmax [%/°C].

Don't confuse peak generation (instantaneous or might be half hour average) with peak yield (total generated over day) which usually happens late May, early June.

They get their info (its an estimate) from https://www.solar.sheffield.ac.uk/pvlive/

I looked at the data you can download for yesterday, and it was even lower at 31g at 15:30.

Not quite a new low record for carbon/kWh, but close

I'll await the official National Grid ESO figures, they have the previous record at 39gCO2 / kWh.

I did a snapshot of 15:30 - 16:30 with all the plants that were running if that's any use?

https://terravolt.co.uk/uncategorized/u ... 0-04-2023/

(Beware National Grids definition of 'other' - it covers all sorts including grid battery's and aggregated systems (Virtual Power Plants) etc... basically anything that doesn't slot in to their standard categories.
I'm not aware we even have any oil fired plants left beyond maybe Greenwich Power Station for the London Underground but I think even that's running gas...)

Ooh - I see "Batteries" are on your snapshot. Emirates Stadium is one of them - how big is that?!

edit - answered my own question.
A 2MW Tesla Megapack installed in 2018 and managed/powered by Octopus - later expanded to 3MW
