Can I submit a G100 form myself?
Re: Can I submit a G100 form myself?
I’ve re-read the definitions, you may be ok with G99 fast track SGI-2.
In my opinion the definitions are slightly contradictory, but you can work out what is intended.
SGI-1 is pretty much G98 but with some sort of storage. I remember arguing with folk a while back that G98 was not possible for hybrid inverters as it conflicted with some of the wording. But folk were clearly having them approved under G98. So I think this a is compromise to allow fit and post inform similar to G98 but make it G99 under SGI-1. In this case everything has to be no more than 16A whether there is a G100 in place or not.
SGI-2 seems to be a concession to make it easier to fit up to rated 32A inverters as long as they are restricted to 16A with G100 compliance. That can include single or multiple inverters. So I reckon this is for you.
SGI-3 seems to be single or multiple inverters rated up to 32A inverters and export limited to less than 32A which is clearly a step beyond your situation assuming your system is limited to 16A export.

18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Thanks! I think I'll submit it and see what they say.nowty wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 8:48 pm I’ve re-read the definitions, you may be ok with G99 fast track SGI-2.

Re: Can I submit a G100 form myself?
hello, does your inverter have an energy meter? My Solis hybrid is connected to a 3 phase meter so it can limit the export to the grid, which i forgot to switch on and by the looks of today's graph i was exporting nearly 5 kw on L3 ...... oops
Re: Can I submit a G100 form myself?
Hi, do you mean the inverter's inbuilt meter? You can see current, daily and total generation on the inverter's LCD screen. I've installed the Growatt Wifi datalogger so I can also see it on an app on my phone too. Recently on a cold day that had sunshine and clouds it was reporting generating 5.3 kW briefly when the sun came out from behind a cloud. Batts were full and we weren't using much so oops too
Re: Can I submit a G100 form myself?
the Solis comes with its own energy meter which is installed at the main incomer and has a CT clamp to measure power and import / export if exporting more than whatever the export limit is, it should throttle back the inverter ouput, the meter has a comms cable back to the inverter.
Just had quick look at the Growatt, is there a CT current clamp at your meter connected back to your inverter?

Re: Can I submit a G100 form myself?
Hi, yes there is, it can measure how much is being imported or exported from the grid and display it on the app, which is useful for knowing when to run the washing machine etc too!MoSTiE wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 6:08 pm the Solis comes with its own energy meter which is installed at the main incomer and has a CT clamp to measure power and import / export if exporting more than whatever the export limit is, it should throttle back the inverter ouput, the meter has a comms cable back to the inverter.

Here's a screenshot of yesterday:
Re: Can I submit a G100 form myself?
Does this look right, listing the batts separately from the inverter?

Take the battery line out as it’s not an AC generating unit. You can put the battery capacity against the Hybrid inverter line. (I did not think DNO even asked about battery capacity before, DC side is non of their business)
I would put the inverter line under proposed and leave the existing section blank. But that’s your choice.

Also, do you think for the PGM registered capacity of the inverter as 5 kW as the G100 limitation is asked about later?nowty wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 8:04 am Take the battery line out as it’s not an AC generating unit.
