Not having an EV charger fitted (but I have the Rolec one which was at my daughter's before the Zappi) I wonder if there are instances of people stealing electricity when no one is in.

Pretty sure Rolec do a retro key switch for about £25

You can just fit a basic keyswitch no need to buy the Rolec-specific one.
