Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
Update time,
A few more members, plus other improvements within the membership on the secret list.
I'm a bit disappointed with the perceived take up of Ripple Derril Water, only 8 confirmed members so far, thats lower than Graig Fatha.
I thought we would make a serious attack on that 1GWh mythical milestone but we will get there.
I am sure there must be some secret Ripple DW members out there, drop me a PM if you don't want to go public.
In an average year 125 Camelot members will generate 680 MWh of renewable electricity onsite and 214 MWh remotely.
Onsite Generation
PV - 632 MWh
Wind - 46 MWh
Hydro - 2 MWh
Total - 680 MWh
Remote Generation via Coop's
Ripple GF - 45 MWh
Ripple KH - 144 MWh
Ripple DW - 21 MWh
Hydro - 4 MWh
Total - 214 MWh
Annual Generation TOTAL - 894 MWh (or average per member 7.15 MWh)
AND
The same 125 Camelot members have a combined 4,950 kWh of onsite Energy Storage capacity.
Home Batteries – 1,792 kWh
EV Batteries - 2,356 kWh
Hot Water Storage - 526 kWh
Thermal Mass Storage - 276 kWh
Energy Storage Capacity TOTAL - 4,950 kWh (or average per member 39.60 kWh)
Keep em coming, there must be more of you out there generating and storing.
Publicly reply to this thread or PM me with your PV (kW installed or annual kWh), Ripple project, Co-op or other generation.
And now EVs, hotwater and thermal mass storage.
EVs - gross battery size or even EV model if you don't know.
Hot Water / thermal stores - Tank size in litres.
Storage heaters - max capacity (kWh), power model (W) or even brand / model numbers.
Under floor heating - mass or volume of concrete slab.

17.5kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 25MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
I have gone for Ripple DW, albeit in a small way - 2kW, so roughly 2MWh per annum
Solar PV since July '22:
5.6kWp east/west facing
3.6kW Sunsynk hybrid inverter
2x 5.12kWh Sunsynk batteries
1.6kWp Hoymiles East/West facing PV on the man cave
Ripple DW 2kW
Ripple WB 200W
5.6kWp east/west facing
3.6kW Sunsynk hybrid inverter

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
You were the 8th member of DW , but I did not know the detail so I've edited that back into my previous post so its now included.
Still not even half the amount of GF within the group and less than a sixth of KH. I note most purchased less than previous projects, I suspect most are full up at 120% or higher and have run out of excuses, I mean evidence.

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
Indeed Nowty, having almost 9 kWp mounted on our roof and maxed out on GF and KH I plead guilty on both counts.nowty wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 10:42 amYou were the 8th member of DW , but I did not know the detail so I've edited that back into my previous post so its now included.

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
I do wonder if people have been put off by it being solar instead of wind. I would have preferred wind in an ideal world - just something about covering the part of the year which is not covered by PVnowty wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 10:42 amYou were the 8th member of DW , but I did not know the detail so I've edited that back into my previous post so its now included.

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
Yes I didn't partake this time because if I want solar I would do it myself, I hope the next project is hydro or if not that then another WT

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
No DW for me either as I am max'd out on GF and KH.
In fact, I am over max'd as I based my usage on two months when I was using my EV a lot. However, Ripple have accepted this was done in good faith and gan keep my GF and KH, but not buy any more until my consumption increases if/when I install a heat pump.
Instead I have helped my three children buy into DW, but they are not members of this forum.

Re: Camelot Members Annual Green Electric Generation
I did partake. As swmbo says "don't put off to tomorrow what ye can do today", so I did!
If they did announce a hydro project I'd be on it like a rat but in the kids names. I agree with Moxi & richbee, I'd rather have been in something with better apparent Winter coverage. Although being so far North it will very likely comparatively be that in most scenarios.
