Turkish sunshine’s going to be a bit of a shock for you.
Cheers, closest I'll get to ambient until Spring! :)
Been down to 16.5 deg inside at home post Glasgow trip.

The difference 150 miles N makes in notable. Can't imagine 600 miles. Does it still feel like Summer down there in Southern England ?

I hope you have as great a start to the colder season as we have had for RE. At the moment all is at the very least, balanced, no grid.I look forward to coming back for Nov and see how it plays out. ;)

Gas use for Sept has been 319kWh almost entirely on HWT, previous Sept was 528kWh, a 40% reduction in gas use in this single month. Hoping to keep that sort of performance going. :o

Spotted and bought this today here in Turkey, a clamshell nonstick frying pan. One more tool in the less gas goal of cooking on the woodstove. Will try sausage & bacon on our return home next week.

Spatter free and excellent heat retention. :)

Have you seen these, Joe ?

Seem like a bit of a faff, but could be another bit of your stove cookware.

Like the fry pan ;)

We were looking at those as well as the cast iron baked tattie cooker the other day. Looks good!

Geez, those £25 a few years ago (& stupidly overpriced back then) potato bakers are now £55 ??? ..china tat dominance in full effect.
(it's also the price of an instantpot when on it's periodic special offer price)

That's a lot of farm gate bags of spuds just to come close to paying back for that ring-stinger!
Makes a le-creuset knock off pot seem cheap as an upturned cooking solution to do the same thing on a WBS.

plus i'd really want to see the quality of those hinges.

Scratch cooked a pasta sauce this afternoon, absolutely brilliant! Missed all my systems of RE while away in Turkey. Clicked right back in. Bringing the water to the boil for the pasta too. Chilli's are also drying nicely. :)

Extreme satisfaction. :)

Just sitting there watching a bit of nothing and SWMBO says 'why don't you fill a hot water bottle'? Absolutely says I! Another way the WS is working for us and i'm closer to my youth for a moment. :)

Dunno what I'd do without SWMBO's brain!
