Small things matter
Re: Small things matter
Read the review, nice one. I can't get myself beyond the £6.49 price tag though when I can get 400lums @ 4W for £1.
I checked back and both my UK orders of these style bulbs were £2 per unit quite recently although 500lums @ 4W.
At a quid a pop I'll be checking out the other village supermarkets today!

Outstanding full chicken, chilli tatties and peppers in the airfryer last night. Chicken carcass stripped for chicken sandwiches this lunchtime and is currently simmering for a chicken & sweetcorn noodle soup.

Re: Small things matter
whats all that blue "stuff" behind the mountain ? All we have seen for the last 4 days is cloud at distances of 0 to 150m Battery is at 21% and charging at a mighty 93Watts such is the quality of the daylight here again today. The last day of July is more like an October day and we have picked wild mushrooms and blackberrys for the last few days so even nature thinks the season is more advanced than it really is !
Put some of that weather in a bag and sneak it home when you return JB

Sorry to hear that pal. We are managing to run three homes on very little. Here being here and full of blue stuff, barely a flicker. No1 is under instruction to essentially decamp to ours in Scotland for any power use. His place is ticking over at fridge & freezer compressor level. I'll bag up what I can and send in NW on a spell.Moxi wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 3:12 pm whats all that blue "stuff" behind the mountain ? Again, the swamp cooler being a fan and small water pump to feed a water soaked medium is absolutely outstanding.
Says 110W on the back but as its a 3 speed fan I'll go 30W per speed and 20W for the matrix pump. We are running on speed 2 so balcony aircon for 80W. That is the background load now that we're up from pool.

Re: Small things matter
Catching the last squeak before horizon dip. I do like to remain visceraly connected to my power world . Daft wee things like moving a 28W panel for solar advantage help in this.

£6.49? I paid £50 a bulb for the Phillips L-prize winning bulbs 10 years ago! They’re all still working though.Joeboy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 7:43 am Read the review, nice one. I can't get myself beyond the £6.49 price tag though when I can get 400lums @ 4W for £1.

Re: Small things matter
In no way being judgemental, £50 for 1 bulb, what's that with inflation, £200?Stinsy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 7:44 pm£6.49? I paid £50 a bulb for the Phillips L-prize winning bulbs 10 years ago! Re: Small things matter
They were the pinnacle!
Thereafter we ended up with overdriven, overheating, LED bulbs that had lifespans comparable to incandescent. The “Dubai” bulbs are turning the tide back to quality over price.
The first few I bought actually cost £100 each in reality because I bought a £50 bulb and a £50 compatible dimmer! What can I say? It is tough being an early adopter sometimes. On the other hand I missed out completely on the later failure-prone LEDs, I’ve literally never had a failure!
