I hear the new V4 Superchargers can cope with 800V cars. Therefore if you find one of those you should get full whack. But on an old Supercharger tour car pretends to be 400V and will charge slowly. Better to find an InstaVolt or Ionity.

Tbh, I'm just grateful when charging works! one of the fast chargers I used was 89p per kWh, that's a bit much? That Tesla site was 49p per kWh.

Felt like it was justified this evening. The new door rope has made a massive difference to rate of burn.



First cuppa off the stove in what seems like a long time.

Edit- The next morning (and this was a gentle burn not using much fuel) the flank of the WBS remains warm to the touch as do the storage bricks and there are more than enough hot embers within to get it going again swiftly if needed.

Entirely down to the new door rope sealing effectively and no air being pulled past it to increase burn rate. I like that! It will also increase the effectiveness of the WBS as it has been roomsealed. Not much use though if the door rope is worn and pulling already heated air past it!

Point being, check your door rope seals gentlemen, it's getting to that time of year.

You mean sealed it properly, cut the air and hence allows a slower burn?
(which is ironic if it is correct, considering that people with open fires were always trying to get the chimney to draw better!)

That's exactly it, plus the air is being drawn from the points within that it is designed for and I can see the difference in both flame colour and rotation. I am throttling on the room seal rear air feed only and it is far better. I'm a big fan of power brought to a point and used effectively to maximise efficiency. The difference here from a simple door rope change has surprised me. In saying that I also changed the doorglass and its seals too. Could also have been pulling past there? No way to know for sure though.
