Got mine up and running this morning.

Tay, if you want to send me some details I will try and see if I can set an account for you.
Finally got an update, seems they have had the device for the last 7-8 days and now have decided to send the duty fee request, no sign of that yet, perhaps Royal Mail (as they have it now) are using their own service to send it !!.

Then hopefully I can join the balcony solar PV experience !
Would be good to have the goods in hand before paying duty?

They cant threaten to not deliver it if you dont pay then though. It how they have always done it but usually they are pretty quick to deliver and get their cut of the handling fee's, but post brexit postage is a shambles.

A touch more shading work to be done. 8-)

Edit- today, it makes no difference to me that I have 4kW coming in from the main PV systems. The satisfying stuff is the 50W incoming from the Enphase Powerhouse. Trees felled, 3rd hand swag bought and flung together and we are off to the races! :D

Nothing quite like growing yer own.
I do like the look of your extra shed solar - makes me think I could do similar in the future.
How does it fit with your current inverter / battery / grid export system?
I can imagine that practically, the new system will just do its own thing, and will export to the grid if the background demand is low enough.
Presumably the main system inverter CT coil will detect this output.
Does this cause problems with the DNO?
Does it confuse your main inverter - I'm imagining it detecting its own PV panels, which could be filling up the batteries, and then randomly the house is exporting by itself when the batteries aren't full.

I guess I'm asking if you need to have clever electronics to tie together the different systems, or if they will play happily together

I did wonder about that, it all plays nicely together. Fit meter is its own unit directly from the solaredge system so not affected. Any minimal excess not caught by the solar HW diverter or hybrid inverter sending to battery stack would make its way to grid. Not a Watt I don't think.

Kettle on for 20 minutes!

I won't see how effective this add on is until next year. Certainly its fun, satisfying and has potential 👌

Back from my long birthday weekend bash expecting to see a letter to pay the duty on the Hoymiles Microinverter that UK customs has sat on for well over a week and nothing. Its been in the UK since the 28th Sept..

it says postage was on the 26th, so 2 days from Germany (max). then nearly two weeks to sit on it, move it around the floor in Gatwick, kick it around a bit more, then claim to send a letter out last week..still has not arrived 5 days later.

I just want to play with Balcony Solar !!!

Looks like you've got a parcel No so should have a claim if it doesn't show up in a couple of weeks? It is worthwhile! Aye, the wait i mean.

Me n SWMBO are attacking the West side tree shading this morning which is currently restricting the afternoon production on Enphase powerhouse to about 19W! :(

I think we can improve on that slightly.

I wonder if your turnip will increase its output now as a happy coincidence of the reduced baffle effect from the tree line now removed. I wonder further if suggested increase will be of sufficient magnitude to be recorded 😂

As for the panels I’m sure your work will be amply rewarded. Get it …….. Amp ly
