My father had the two door version, but apart from that this one looks identical.

Well chuffed yesterday, I drove back from my folks in north england to the south coast yesterday and dropped my brother off en route, a little out of my way and still managed the whole journey of 271 miles on a single charge and still had 12% battery left when I arrived home. I was not driving slow either. Suggests I could go just over 300 miles at motorway speeds, at least in summer.

I've done my usual 250 mile journey to my folks on a single charge several times but on this occasion with the longer journey I was going to do a 10 min charging stop. The car was suggesting only a 5 min stop in Banbury but I decided to risk it and cancelled the charging stop, maybe drive slower if I needed to, but I ended up driving faster the closer I got to home.

NOTE - Elevation start and finish was almost identical and there was very little wind. EV is a Tesla Model 3 LR with a nominal 75 kWh battery.

Anyone else have a personal EV single charge distance record to share ?

Arrived at my mums house in NW England after a near 250 mile drive, only just made it on a single charge. Normally, no problem but the car ate up 2% pre heating the battery on the driveway and that was with it plugged in and sucking power 7kW out of the house. :o

Average of 6 degrees on the journey and a headwind caused another 8% battery loss. It was squeaky bum time once the battery dropped to 10% as that last 10% seemed to be dropping a little faster and I had to drop my speed to under 60. :?

I declined the chance of a supercharger with 10 miles to go. :xx:

It should be pretty obvious that it would take more battery going 'up' the country compared to 'down' the country on the way home :joker:

How long did it take to get from empty to full on the granny?
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Did it ?, you mean does it !

App said 24 hrs+ when I plugged it in at 2:30pm, it still says 24hrs+ now.

10A granny equates to about 57 kWh per 24hrs and its a 75kWh battery.

But then that’s not an issue as its more than enough for day to day driving and enough to get back to full within a couple of days if I need it.

I wonder how much battery heating is required in cold weather without the car being driven?

I don’t bother too much re the battery percentage charge. I watch the difference between indicated range and distance to destination. Only when close to empty would I worry if the remaining elevation was a bit steep. Decision whether to stop for a ‘splash’n’dash’ depends on how close those two figures are - and in which direction the difference is going.

Nearly got caught out once, when there was a call, for a fairly immediate hospital appointment, that arrived just a few minutes after we arrived home. Luckily there was 35 miles of range still indicating….

My wife likes the car charger every night for that reason, having a low range EV I suppose it makes sense, for having to pick kids up, emergencies etc
