Don't panic, most suppliers allow you to back date the reading for at least a few days to avoid their servers crashing.
But of course you have to at least read it. ;)

and for all the people on fixed rate tariffs it's irrelevant anyway. If you're on a variable tariff then it's worth making sure that you are only charged at the new rate for what you are going to use.
Although I did see a prediction that gas (and other?) prices were going to fall next spring and summer... just after I had agreed a 1-year fix... a tarrif with Octopus/Co-ops first ever leaving charge ... of £75. Ouch! I seem to have the reverse Midas touch...

It will drive my attempts to reduce gas use a bit harder though!
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,

Had to.. :hysteria: I'll stick a reading in tomorrow just to close out the year. I'm not consciously superstitious but do like to terminate as much of the previous year as I can before steaming ahead. Girlfriends, debt collectors, electricity readings... you know, the usuals? :D

Surely smart meters have made submitting readings redundant?

When it comes to money 💰 I make sure.

Life taught me to take care of business myself. Relying on others is a sure path to disappointment 😞. I guess that now incudes smart meters too at year end?

Surely most on here are on IOG or a tracker so prices won’t change at midnight!
