The electrician opened up the unit and checked the wiring to the pump, he disconnected the communication cable and the pump started running at full speed, he then checked the control PCB, removed and replaced the pump communication connector plugged it back in the PCB and at the pump and it has been running since. So perhaps just a loose connection, will see what the Vaillant engineer says on Wednesday.

Took an old, unloved pine desk and turned it into two oversized bedside cabinets for daughter in Edinburgh. Big enough to store bathsheets in if need be! Another coat of wax tomorrow and they'll be ready to go. I do enjoy landfill avoidance. :D

Nice job, did you use a router to make the new edges, or let in/stick on some new mouldings?
(I have never had much success with the router I bought)

Router, bought a erabauer bit from screwfix(£13). 9.3mm radius and end roller guide bearing. Absolutely bricking it as i had limited results with router before and its been gathering dust for ooohhh, about a decade!

No problem yesterday, multiple passes and end result is none too shabby. It's not retail standard but I'm pleased with the result. :)

The real surprise was the amount of rubbing down needed to ensure no damage to daughter. Took about 5 hours with powertools (solar battery charged or run from sun today via 3 pin) just for the sanding. Sucked in the wax when we got to that stage, more wax tomorrow. I'm kind of hoping I made a pair of inheritance pieces that grandkids will get to use, if they ever show up!

What a fabulous day we have had for solar in NW Wales, I hope everyone else is fairing similarly ? 3.2kWp at one point and the stack has filled from 20% to 100% for the first time this year.

Brilliant to read that, a red letter day indeed. Here's to the rest of the season! We had an epic day too. First time this year that Victron system shut down as all full. SH's on vua remote control as we are in Edinburgh.

Aye, you were due some sunshine Moxi!
You've just to remember that it is like this every day it's just the low cloud and mist that is stopping it getting to your panels.

Is the HP running OK Ian? 👍

We are now down to 15kWh per night from grid to run a bit of SH and charge batteries to start day around 50% soc. Looking forward to the bigger storage capacity soon.
