£60bn Grid upgrade

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

I dont have much faith in some of this.

I do wonder if these people have much vision for a world with cheap PV (now 10% the price of 10yrs ish ago and getting cheaper), Big falls in battery prices, V2G , TOU tariffs/demand management etc. Yes i get the East coast boot straps but after that i struggle.

We have the new link from Scotland to Drax coming within a few hundred meters of us and thankfully it is all underground but then in Lincolnshire they are doing it with pylons. How come underground or in the sea is too expensive in Lincolnshire?

On the same theme there is uproar round here about loads of new poles being put in by new broadband providers in existing KCom areas. In places their are multiple poles within a few meters of each other. (Yet when Kcom have expanded their network they have done nearly everything underground and didn't use existing infrastructure).
