My heart goes out to Kris in this.
As its a prototype and I would like to think sold as exactly that, I would hope that the customer at least covers his costs for parts? A sad one if he doesn't and makes me think on the old saying "No good deed goes unpunished".
Good to see it spinning again though and his excellent attitude. Still worth a couple of hundred quid a month paid generation even in April.
I prefer the hydro-spout turbine driven off the spoons for relative simplicity but the waterwheel has grandeur!

Re: Waterwheel snapped shaft
Looks like about 1 weeks work + £1,000 stated parts? At his skill level that's about £3k + travel & accommodation. He should NOT be carrying that whole can.
The customer got a complete upgrade not just a repair.

Yes watched this the other day, impressed with his skills.
Workmanship and general attitude to doing stuff.
Good to see him benefiting from you tube

Re: Waterwheel snapped shaft
I agree, and if you look at those buckets they could probably be doubled in size and not make a dent in the new shaft, given the new tolerances. And that would have negligible impact on the rate. Maybe the motoir couldn't cope? But he upgraded that as well previously.
Edit: It's one thing to put it right though, and advertise that fact. I wonder how much business his youtube channel brings to him?
