Low takeup of FSD after free trial

Ok yes low sample size, but according to this, it seems there is a very low takeup of people buying full FSD in the US after having the free trial.

Even with the price cut to $8k, it's a lot of money for a system you still have to monitor constantly and keep your hands on or near the wheel.
It still feels like proper autonomous driving is a while away.
I quite the fancy the idea in theory, for long journeys, to have a kip in the back while your car drives you places - be amazing for going away for work :D

$8k is a lot to pay for a gimmick.
