Guys that fitted them struggled with the wind. Quite gusty that day.
Luckily only onto my bungalow roof from a temp scaffold tower.
Oddly enough their boss was scarce that day

My 505W ones are the same physical size (1134 x 2094) as those CPS ones, I managed to do my shed single handed, but only just.

Damn 535W ones now for the same size and cheaper.

My second hand 250w are 1m x 1.67m. 20kg and I thought they were unwieldy to swing about

Outstanding time this morning out in deep hinterlands of The Shire.

Tremendous rural sawmill and sawmill/workshop under construction.

22mtrs of 8"x2" for £55. I'll rip them down for framing and treat them myself.

Also 80 mtrs of 8"x1" pine boards for cladding £120. To be ripped and treated by me too.

Very happy, great day out!

The first stop for 8x2 was at Insch, the second stop for 8x1 cladding boards was out in amongst Clashindarroch woods which is where he's building the mighty workshop/sawmill.

These are Storm Arwen felled trees, a bit of blueing, ungraded, untreated, some small sections of live edge but honestly for £175 I have scored massive. They are testing around 14% moisture. The fellas name is Ciaran, pm me if you want contact deets? A top fella indeed.

No1 is 6' 6"



I am particularly taken by the idea of being able to utilise these storm felled timbers as they were outside the time envelope for grading to construction industry. I find it joyful that they'll be used in a solar RE project.

Yeah, personal goal will be achieved. Raining heavy here today, zero sign of sun and we were still getting 660W incoming in the worst of it. These panels plus Enphase Workshop input will take us over 1kW incoming even in crap weather. That is where I'll be happy to be and call a stop on PV addiction (sorry additions). Thank you Clockmanfra.

There is also the aesthetics question and how far to push it . I like being married to SWMBO.

Got into the kingpost today. Turning out not too bad.













The creosote was still present even after cutting end square(ish) with solar chainsaw. I've soaked the cut sides and endgrain in particular with cuprinol wood preserver and added some stones for a mini French drain at base of hole. Should keep it in good shape for a Century!
