Small things matter

Thanks lads, mucho appreciato. Kind of validated what I thought regarding s/s fanciness. I found a few nice split or socketed s/s timber joiners.

They were £35 a pop or so.

I then found 10 of 60mm long by 38mm wide 1.5mm wall thickness s/s plates. I'll 90 deg them in the vise at midpoint. I can easily achieve 15mm off patio for the timbers. If I've got the price right it will only be £8 or so for four vertical timber fixings. Plus they'll be hidden once cladding goes on and I'll have a cool floating effect.

I find it quite surprising how the apparently ancillary gear ramps the end bill up at a fair old rate! We've also bought a 32A DC IP67 rated breaker to inline between this 1.595kW panel Boot Room addition and the 60A rated 150V Victron solar charge controller. I'll test as I go but tbh we don't really need this string May to July and if it oversupplies I'll have an easy kill point while maintaining a dry roof.

Edit- Bought 10 of 90 deg s/s mending brackets. That should get it done and keep timbers dry at ground level.

I don't really know. We did it simply for the nice look. Glad of it too as the WBS has been on the last four evenings. Anyone seen Summer in their area?



Depending on delivery time tomorrow of necessary gear I might just get these panels up. Maybe not on but up. Can't believe we were generating 7.5kW earlier today...

T seals went in well.

The run off on the panels is outrageous! My fault as I wanted the kingpost in a specific spot for foot traffic ( yeah yeah). I'll maybe do something about it via masking or just say F it, let it fly.

Amazon not delivering until 4 to 6pm.

I know I could have had these outputting for 2pm if i had the gear...Times not wasted, I'll start hiding cables instead.

Glad Amazon delivery arrived late on today. Can get into the panel fixings tomorrow with the mighty 1"4" spanner! Tidied away the panel cables and cracked on with the framing through later afternoon.



Hopefully by about 10am tomorrow these will be live.



Checked each panel and sitting at 46V. I'm not sure what the average will be across the system but tbh at the price of the panels I'm OK with taking a potential max production hit if it means my net is that much wider in the less than optimal days. A strange angle for a Winter intended panel set yet better than concrete tiles.

Nowty, sig adjusted to reflect addition. Sitting here listening to Fleetwood Mac and having a beer. A swift panel count sees us at 36 panels onsite. Pretty sure that places me in the full on Mentalist ring. Or maybe just enlightened?



Add in No1's & Turkonium and the count is 40 panels across a couple of timezones. Jings!

Been keeping an eye on the balance between the Solaredge & Victron system and they seem to be within 150W of each other most times of checking.
