Slide towards Winter
Re: Slide towards Winter
Aye, it’s 15 Deg outside at the moment so maybe the burner on for the night is a good shout, will see if I have any wood!
Re: Slide towards Winter
15? We've got 9.... 9!
SWMBO'S efforts as we cleared and rejigged the Bootroom.
All that to the right is what we didn't burn last Winter.

Re: Slide towards Winter
Saw this on the BBC website from a weather forecaster speaking about the current colder temperatures:
"This has resulted in coverings of snow across the mountains of Scotland, which in itself is not unusual for June, but to see seven consecutive days of snow falling over the highest peaks is very unusual."
With a wind chill of -10C

Re: Slide towards Winter
It sure is, its never been switched off as keeps the house at a nice even temperature. COP this week is 4.64.Joeboy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 6:46 pmHP taking it in its stride I hope?Fintray wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 6:43 pm Saw this on the BBC website from a weather forecaster speaking about the current colder temperatures:

Re: Slide towards Winter
My intention is just to leave it on all year (unless there is a heatwave!) and see how it performs regarding COP and cost.

Re: Slide towards Winter
Sounds like a good plan. Is that you adjusted to a constant temperature? Did you lower it further after the initial drop? We've still got 1kW incoming after 7pm and for that I am grateful and in awe.
I really like the idea of being acclimatised and the HP unit ramps up and down to maintain that balance and with an E eye on weather. Very cool.

Re: Slide towards Winter
The even temperature throughout the house is very pleasant, though bedroom window left open and radiator off in that room as I like a cool bedroom. I think the heating curve is at 0.3 so about 32C flow at current outside temps.Joeboy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 7:06 pmSounds like a good plan. Is that you adjusted to a constant temperature? Re: Slide towards Winter
That is excellent, I'm a dehumidifier type person for the Winter. Assuming you are sorted on that front? Aye to the 3 extra, a noticeable lift in available power. The extended battery SOC is 'sprightly'.Fintray wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 7:20 pmThe even temperature throughout the house is very pleasant, though bedroom window left open and radiator off in that room as I like a cool bedroom.
