Being a microgeneration site for the grid

I didn't want to hijack Snuggy's panel install thread so i'll continue here.

I'm testing the Goodwe Hybrid discharge side today. I'm impressed they way it throttles the battery rate to match the shortfall to the Solaredge generation to keep as close to the 3.6kW limit as possible. The SOC discharge rate setting seems to work as well so i won't flatten the battery.

I've had a look at pricing and if i'm right I just loes the export side of the FIT? Had a quick look at figures and If i keep the generation side of the FIT on a conservative view even just May to Sept this is a no brainer.

Well that was simple enough. Although i don't have a inform DNO letter from installer and they went tits up years ago. We'll see how much of a problem that becomes.

Can't see it being a hassle as its a 3.6kW limited export and thats on the MCS? Its funny, even just messing about this morning with the discharge side it all clicked into place regarding the potential I have here (April to Sept).

They're saying 6 weeks but that I assume is a generic timeframe, who beat the 6 week window? Hopefully it will go faster (get it GO faster, ah i'm wasted here)!

I did not have one either, I emailed my DNO and they emailed me back within a couple of days confirming they know about my system. A screenshot of the email was enough for Octopus.

I plan on looking again at agile export once the system is up and running. Currently i am on their fixed 15p rate, and although not been paying too much attention to outgoing rate fluctuations, fixed seems to be the better option, and the opposite, agile better for incoming.

Will add, my latest dealings with ssen were
Refused to talk to me unless i was a qualified electrician and mcs installer.
I understand the need to make sure idiots arent jerry rigging their electicity, but they wouldnt even discuss my existing g98.

Looking back over the Agile export doesn't show many times above 15p/kWh so doubt it would be worth the effort.

Mail away to SSEN, it does say on the MCS cert which i attached to SSEN that the DNO would be informed post install and commissioning. Hopefully it will a confirming letter return from them and onwards to Octopus with that. I went for fixed 15p. That's a decent hike up for my late through the door (last 6 months of the scheme running) FIT rate!

My MCS cert has name, address, area etc, post code and then as a bottom line.... ENGLAND.

They must have confused Shires, absolute nuggets.

Good luck with it all Joe, I've stuck with Go and the fixed 15p as not very good at keeping abreast of likely rate changes.
It did take a while to get onboard with Outgoing but we're there now and subsequently discovered we are limited to 12kW's export rate. So, you never know, but you may get a healthy uplift on your rate also.
