Two bits of news about the French TGV.
Firstly, their new generation TGV-M, designed to be more energy efficient, carry more passengers, cheaper to run and contain more recyclable materials than the existing fleet, was meant to be entering service this summer. It's been delayed by a year. High speed line testing is currently taking place though.

Second, the original designer of the OG TGV has died. Apparently the inspiration for the shape, and also the colour, came from a Porsche!

I do love a good high speed train. I'm off to France again later this month, although this time I'll be taking the Tesla on the 90mph EuroTunnel train instead...
