Backpacked my cable, mc4's, brackets, bolts etc with me yesterday for wall mounting panels here.

They took (at security) the daft wee mc4 plastic spanner but crucially my 10mm/11mm open ended spanner. Hacked off at that, like losing a friend!

On the upside though, that's one step closer to PV on the wall here in Turkey.

Will have to pick the right time to do it, could be Oct!

Who knows? I dont mess with airport staff, that stuff can follow you.... The lad actually said he made a judgement call on letting my cable ties through! God bless the little brains that do thier job well.

Many years ago, before 9-11 and all that paranoia, we went on an extended camping trip to Turkey, I had a stove that ran on unleaded petrol and a half litre storage bottle for extra fuel. They let me board with the stove containing about a third of a litre, but not the refill bottle???

It is weird, all joking aside. It was serious business for the lad, supv involved and everything. My travel rule is "always be polite". Actually it's my rule fullstop but especially in such traceable places.

It is now 40+ and I've just been in the pool. It is glorious!






The auto water system we put in at season start is doing a great job. Banana, pomegranate and orange trees all doing well. We still have grass! That's normally gone by now. Lizards, tortoise, swifts and butterflies all seen. SWMBO is crashed out in the aircon upstairs, im aiming for a full reset for her this trip. First boat trip tomorrow, fingers x'd for turtles and dolphins!

Yeah but it's a spanner not a blade? They'd have been better pulling me for the handmade aluminium right angle brackets. Although I had filed them smooth and rounded the corners. They were also interested.in.the MC4's.as not seen them before. We very rarely travel with hold baggage to Turkey. Not for years...

Although this time we did bring, steaks,limes, cheese and solar gear as well as a few books.

Just back from holiday last week, so did see the signage saying tools should be in the hold.

Could be worse could have been a multimeter!
