Insurance and legal issues mean that the installers can't work from ladders or harnesses anymore, so Scaffolding needed, and time/cost to find faults and replace PO's.

Or ........ I could pop to the local supplier of safety kit and get a harness, a lanyard, and under the disapproving supervision of Wifey, climb out the Velux and swop 3 PO's myself?

Are you capable and fit enough to be cutting about on your roof? Most of my roof is at single storey so I just go up. I make sure I wear good grippy work boots, it's fully dry and I remain in the moment. No distractions. A tool bucket on a rope is my friend.

In a word, no! Not fit enough, light enough, and certainly not competent. Although Wifey and I have done some indoor sport climbing in the past, distant past.

So, 3 PO's swopped, inverter now talking to the old/existing panels.

Rain interupted second coat of Blackjack ....... weird how much the weather keeps changing, and I'd swear the grass is growing too.

Its looking good Mart, keep it up and well done for getting the harness etc, others might just have ventured out without and that way lies madness and an A&E visit IF lucky upon landing.

By comparison I am just building a wind proof bin store for the hose bins today.
