Where am I ?

The nearest supercharger is only 1.8 km away so I’m now there in Colmar, hard to find as it’s Sunday and some of the road access is closed with barriers down.

Charge No 4 at Colmar is a high usage station but still getting 100 kW. Price here is 34 euro cents / kWh.

Everyone here seems to be staying long as the Alps crossing is next and Swiss charges might be eye watering.
That’s what it should be here fur fast chargers!!!!!
I have a friend who did a road trip earlier this year and drive through Switzerland in a Mercedes EQE and I don’t think it was too bad.
He had no issues anywhere and even got free charging somewhere in Germany.
This country really needs to sort out public charging costs to encourage mass take up of EVs

I’m currently at 95% and can make it to Lugano with 25% left. TM3 says it’s 338 Km and take just over 4 hours. Glad it’s a relatively short journey after yesterday.

Change No 5 at Fluelen, don’t need it but I want a decent level of charge so I don’t have to use a local non Tesla charger. Also need a short break. Cost here is 0.49 Swiss francs so not too bad.

Some beautiful scenery here when it’s not pissing down.

I’ve taken a couple of wrong turns due to complicated road system here but nothing too drastic.

Just noticed this charging place is at a bowling alley.

I have arrived at daughters new place in Lugano with EV battery at 70% and drove through some of the worst rain in my life. The incline down the alps was so steep that the battery level did not drop for 30km.

Their new place is 100m from Lake Lugano, I’ll take a picture when the rain stops. Luckily as it’s Sunday I managed to park free in the buildings underground car park but I will have to move it tomorrow at 7am before the office staff arrive or else it’s a 2000 Swiss francs fine. :?

Daughter and her new kitchen, it’s about the size of their entire flat in London.

That looks like a dining/kitchen/living room - it's huge! I know the Italians are keen on real food/proper cooking but how much space do they need? It reminds me of my farmer's-wife aunt's living room 50 years ago! (apart from the light, airiness, running water, mains power, smart furniture and shiny floor (theirs were stone flags.) Oh, and the open fireplace they cooked on all winter and the 3-burner paraffin stove they cooked on in summer!"

The flip side nowty is you have to drive back up into the alps. At least Teslas are better than Merc’s and Audi’s at going up hills. The e-tron and EQC range drops like a stone 😡
