I tried to induce a sense of visual order with some random to keep it interesting.

Quite surprised at the lower log space accepting a further 65kgs of thermal mass. Count to date is 185kgs. Added cob to the underbuild to bridge gaps and improve thermal flow. Will let it dry out, paint then add a log slice screen for optics.

The lower mass heats up quite well considering heat rises and the cob will be a while drying completely.

Trying a shut door test on the three connected rooms. Started at 21.6 degs at 18.25hrs. Loading up the fire too for a stress test of the wood on the thermal bricks.

We had another great night, no GCH again this morning, or in fact at all ongoing. Big room sitting at 17.1 degs and thermal mass continuing to emit at 30 degs. I could actually feel it as I came down the stairs to make a cuppa at 07.30hrs and that staircase is about 30 ft from the woodstove.

Cracked on today and squeezed a further 9 blocks into rear of Woodstove. Total Thermal Mass at job end? 252kgs!!!!!
Guessing somewhere around 7.5kWh of delayed heat release in this modification? Will never know for sure but thanks again Marcus for the sum.

Up at half five as excited to be going over to Belfast on Thursday and came firing up out of sleep (just like the old days offshore). Big room is a very pleasant 17.5 degs with doors open and the mass is emitting at 43 degs.

Co-incidence and likely due to awakening early but the mass temp in the morning is slowly creeping up 23-30-43. Could be due to the mass itself growing over the last five days.and holding more heat?

SWMBO suggested used slate placemats cut to size as the material to extend out the pot surface on top of WS to either side of flue. Should be able to cook with four large pans after that. She in hunting them down!
