In Warsaw now, don’t really like the place but it’s a short stopover as we visited Majdanek concentration camp this morning prior to charge No 15 in Lublin. It’s about the size of Dachau but in the similar construction style of Sobibor so SWMBO was keen on visiting.

Long haul to Berlin tomorrow (Wed), will probably stay two nights. After that we have no firm plans other than being back with daughter in Lugano on 25th.

Berlin is great. I'm very much a Bowie fan and did enjoy knocking about there back in the day. You really have done the full scope of camps. My own swmbo has been reading.related books for decades literally. Keep in back of mind that we'll be knocking about Western Europe 24th onwards, landing Rotterdam morning of the 24th heading vaguely East.

Charge No 16 at Lucmierz, had a race in the last few km’s with another TM3 as there looked like only a single space left. Then just before the other Tesla turned into the car park, another Tesla coming from the other direction beat both of us to it. But there was enough stalls for all of us. The heat blowing out of the Tesla transformers is crazy.

Charge No 17 at Poznan, first time I’ve ever had a tech problem with a Tesla Supercharger, charge rate dropped to 7kW within a minute, was going to take over 5 hours. But another driver told me the first pair had a problem and suggested I move next to him as his was ok even though by moving next to him would slow his charge down a bit.

64 kW now, not the best but we are having lunch and I’m finding the Tesla chargers typically too fast to even have a sandwich and coffee.

Son used to live in Berlin - I really like it.

Relaxed, easy to get around, good walking city and good beer.

I was going to suggest seeing the Aquarium in the Radisson Blu near to Alexander Platz - then remembered it ‘burst’

Shame, because it really was impressive. Good sitting having a cocktail underneath it served by the very camp barman.

I’m not usually one for department stores, but KaDeWe is worth a visit, just for the Champagne Bar on the top floor.

Charge No 18 at Tesla Gigafactory Berlin. A lot of chargers.



The whole works car park has slow charge points in it.



But you have to pay for the loo.

A bit of the Berlin Wall at checkpoint Charlie and as a bit of a coincidence Radio 2 played “the wall” by Pink Floyd as we were approaching Berlin.

I was at university in Nov 89 when the wall came down and my student friend wanted to go, we nearly went to a travel agency to book a flight but I bottled out as I thought it would be cold and we were just going to turn up without any accommodation and very little money.

I did not understand the historical significance of it at the time. One of my few regrets in life.

Charge No 19 (slow 35kW) at Leipzig, but plenty of chargers. Another long haul today to Stuggart.

Charge No 20 at Zella-Melis and it’s deserted so a nice fast 143kW charge. There are about 32 chargers here including 16 non Tesla ones.
