Where am I ?
Re: Where am I ?
Absolutely love our new range induction cooker, its so much easier than the old LPG range we had, easier to clean quick and efficient more control - best investment since we bought the heat pump tumble dryer and that was an order of magnitude better than the previous TD !
Wife made some cakes (4 off) in the oven yesterday ready for Friday McMillan's cake morning and was so delighted with the oven control that she pointedly asked me why I had taken so long to convincing her that Induction and electric fan ovens could be better than gas.
I didnt lose the tactical advantage though as I fired back that now she could see I wasn't talking rubbish maybe we should accelerate the ASHP system .............. I got one of those sideways looks and a quiet period for my troubles but I am confident that by mid December with the LPG boiler emulating ASHP flow temps that she will succumb.
Overcast and third day of heavy rain here, batteries only pulling a meagre 250W, but all is well.

Re: Where am I ?
The family and I stayed in a holiday let a few weeks ago. It has an induction hob, and we have a halogen hob here at home. I was shocked at how much better the induction hob was. Can't remember the brand though, but we definitely need one.

Re: Where am I ?
We used to use a double portable induction plate put on top of the LPG range (as have some other forum members) when the electric was generated free in summer - so that got the wife used to induction cooking but the move to a full hob is infinitely better - although as with anything O also appreciate it wont be to everyone's taste. Our double induction is now at my eldest sons place for him and we have a single that I wombled off freecycle that is shortly going to a good friends house for her to try.
We still have the WBS for fall back when the power goes off the electric on the mountain is pretty reliable but we still get 4 to 12 blips in a year, mostly of the half hour to 2 hour variety and only once for 3 or 4 days - that was when the WBS won its spurs!

Re: Where am I ?
On the road again and now in Nice.
Charge 25 was at Dorno Ovest in northern Italy.
Charge 26 was at Imperial, Italy in a private car park where you needed to input a code for the barrier to open. You have to click on the Supercharger station icon on the car screen where it givers you stats about the charger and in this case also the magic code 2525V to enter and exit the car park. I hadn’t a clue but another Tesla driver came over and put the code in for me.
Weather is glorious so might stay for a few nights. SWMBO is insisting on visiting Monaco so we are thinking of going by train.

Re: Where am I ?
Today it’s Monte Carlo or bust by train which was a bit busy because of delays and I accidentally bought 3 tickets.
But we finally made it.
The famous Monaco F1 hairpin bend. What surprises you is that it’s on a hell of a slope.
And the F1 tunnel.
SWMBO is now in tears as her home country’s late hero Ayrton Senna still holds the most wins here.

Re: Where am I ?
Always admired the sheer utility displayed in offshore compactors at skip size when they showed up offshore. Great to see a residential solar powered solution. A can solo one would be nice to see.

Re: Where am I ?
The Loews hairpin, named after the hotel next to the hairpin.
Last time I stayed there fur was the grand from memory, not a great trip as it was the day we invaded Iraq for the 2nd time and we got the cold shoulder at breakfast.
Also stayed there when it was the Loews Hotel, which was a more luxurious experience.
The helicopter ride from Nice airport to Monaco is pretty spectacular, and worth doing.
