According to Mingyang, at an average wind speed of 8.5 metres per second the turbine can generate 80m kWh annually.
Boy that's big and powerful. I make it a reasonable 46% capacity factor. So from there we'd only need ~4,000 WT's (not wind farms) to equal the UK's current leccy demand.

Mind boogling!
Just updating my post to the 26MW, and what appears to be a 52%cf, then I make that just ~2,700 WT's.

This is just getting silly.

I haven't a clue, but I tried a simple Google of off-shore WT's in the UK, and the first answer that popped up (fig is one year old) was hysterically co-incidental, whethyer true or not:
As of October 2023, there are 2,695 offshore wind turbines in the UK
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]

according to the tinternet about 11,500 of which 8827 are onshore in 2,604 wind farms and 2,652 are off shore in 42 wind farms - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-60945298

Cant vouch for the accuracy and less trusting of aunty these days but its some figures to start with
