BTW when do we start predicting the saving sessions and rinsing in preparation?
DFS (Saving Sessions) starts 1st Nov and will continue indefinitely all year round BUT no test sessions at all and no guaranteed premium payouts. Only live events and the payouts will likely be much leaner so I don’t see much point in pre-rinsing this year.
But stacking (multiple services) is now allowed which means that the commercial battery companies can also join in. I am hoping this means we are likely to have more live sessions and they will be more likely to be forecasted by us. Remember last year they did test sessions on stupid days and avoided the times they would have helped. This was because the commercial battery companies complained the test sessions were losing them income as they could not join the saving sessions and the test sessions depressed the market prices so they lost income on the marginal days.
Still will be worth it for us folk who can export but I suspect interest from Joe Public will likely wane.

You're telling me that I've had the EV for a year and stayed on the tracker tariff, thinking I'm the lucky one!

What is your average on tracker? Many people (including me) average less than 8p/kWh (inc VAT) on IOG...
Tracker is for people who don't have solar or batteries or an EV.

I was just happy to be on less than the standard variable rate.
There were quite a few days around 12/14p last year... So I was happy with that. As we use quite a lot of electricity at all times during the day, I thought it wouldn't be worthwhile getting the cheap off peak rate, as our usage during the day would all be at ~27p.
It is usually around 20-24p/kWh now so i thought I might as well get IOG and it should work out cheaper. Currently got batteries on order and looking at getting solar, so was going to go on IOG anyways when all that was installed.
I think over the year or so I was on the tracker it averaged around 16-18p/kWh.
