I was looking at some of the kooltherm k118 37.5mm dot n dabbed for the garage that's been k-rend silicone rendered on the outside.

Couldn't believe the price of the k118

So was looking at similar thickness PIR and normal plasterboard, but didn't want to compromise too much on performance as will have no heating in the garage for now.

Couldn't be bothered with the added expense of studding out the walls, etc.
Oh there will be a difference. I've not hunted that figure down though. More happy to just upgrade at £300 rather than nearer £800 and know I'm improving the 7.9kW heat loss calc slightly.

TBH, I'm suffering from early onset RE fatigue and a very, very slight case of cantbearseditis.

Don't get me wrong, I'm into it but not to K118 prices. The original build fabric doesn't justify it. :xl:

73kWh HI5

I understand perfectly mate....

I've got this garage to finish and I'm sick to the death of of it. Just want it done as quick and as cheap as possible.

I need to sort the floor out, old concrete slab at the moment. Need to screed it just to level it out. Probably only needs about 50mm, but too much to just keep on pouring self leveller on it!

Then need to come up a plan with the inside walls.

Then need find a garage door which all seem ridiculously expensive!

Then get the solar guys in to start the ball rolling putting the panels on the garage roof and installing leccy and inverter in garage.

Then hopefully the batteries I ordered off Colin arrive before Christmas!

All seems so far away and Xmas is getting closer hehe

My reply has gotten lost.
Normal pir will be 0.022w/mk and phenolic 0.019.

Check out seconds and co for their cheap pir stuff.

They also do insulated plasterboards. It really is good quality stuff. I ordered my i
Pir from them and its wrinkles in the foil facing thats caused it to be seconds. 🙄
Not as cheap as it was for delivery as their scotland branch has shut i think, but if you are waiting anyway i may want to order some more at the same time, and maybe anyone else up here can also do so too so the shipping costs are cheaper.
They did used to do a collection swrvice.
And they also had pallets of scrap you could collect for £1!!
2.7kw Canadian solar. roof. 3kw solis G98 mcs
12kw midea ASHP
200l hot water
3152W RE, Whitelaw Brae
Octopus agile/outgoing fixed 15p

Planned;
Hybrid system
43kwh eve batteries, 3x16 280A
6-8+kw solar, DC connected.

What about giving it a coat of SBR and a ready mix delivery of concrete straight into the floor?

Cheers AGT.... Nice one Colin for update.

I will probably get round to having a go screeding it myself, didn't look too hard on YouTube. 8-)

Currently been knocked out with man flu and feeling sorry for myself!
