I managed 40.23 kWh over the 2 hour period and in a IOG cheapslot so it will cost me £2.82 but I should get a peak rate rebate of £10.47, the difference will buy me an extra 109 kWh on the cheapslot.

I have exported over a quarter of what I have imported in November and receive double the credit. I have worked out that todays session will power Nowty Towers for an average of 5 days in November. 8-)

I'll join you soon enough, I did not enjoy the elevator dropping feeling stomach when it all went black. In saying that, I didn't particularly like the garage dark scramble with torch (rechargeable batteries) to the meter box. 25kW was not a problem, 27kW was.. :twisted:

If you have an 80A fuse do they set the meter at 80A or is it based on the actual meters capacity? :?:

Good question, our fuse is 100A and I'm sure the meter went in before the fuse was upgraded. Sorry, that's not a helpful answer but all I remember. I could easily have been pulling 107A depending on the V.

I had the meter people visit a few months ago. Apparently my mains fuse was past it's expiry date and they needed to replace it and the the fuse holder. They apparently usually replace with an 80A fuse these days, but as I sai I needed 100A, they managed to find a 100A unit in their van and fitted that

Ours had a 60A fuse in when the smart meter was fitted, I later had the tails upgraded to 25mm2 and the main fuse ungraded to 100A.

Our smart meter is rated to 100A and in Saving Sessions baseline boosting and Power Hours I'm up to 90A+ but under 100A and I've never had it cut out. I suspect all smart meters are set up as default to their max amps rating.

The manual for my smart meter has a section in it which explain how it can be set up for load limiting.

16 Load limiting operation
The meter can be configured to support load limiting operation.
To support load limiting the following values need to be configured:
 The load limit power threshold (W)
 The load limit period (seconds)
 Load limit state change
 The load limit restoration period (seconds)

16.1 Load limit power threshold
This is a configurable value where once the instantaneous usage (kW) is
exceeded the meter will register the load limiting event.
The meter status may change depending on the load limit state that has
been detected. Typically, the meter will either display an indication that the
threshold has been exceeded or disconnect supply to the consumer.

16.2 Load limit period
Where load limiting is enabled the meter can also be configured to support
a load limiting period. The load limiting period (defined in seconds) is used
as a guard time to denote when the load limiting action will be
implemented.

For example; If the load limiting was configured to 30 seconds; then the
instantaneous usage would have to be exceeded for more than 30 seconds
before the action was implemented.

16.3 Load limit state change
The load limit state supports two conditions that can be configured for the
support of load limiting.

The first state is to disconnect supply to the consumer, followed by
immediately arming the supply for reconnection either by manual
intervention, or by restoration period.
The second state is to remain unchanged, where the meter will display that
load limiting has been exceeded and generate the sending of an alert
indicating the change in state via its HAN Interface.

16.4 Load limit restoration period
After a load limit action, has occurred the supply control switch is
immediately set to armed state to allow the consumer to reconnect the
supply.

The load limit restoration period can be configured (in seconds) to perform
an automatic reconnection of supply after the specified time period. The
use of this function is to enable reconnection without the consumer having
to go to the meter and press the button to reconnect the supply control
switch.

The meter can be configured to support load limiting as a factory default or
via commanded to enter this mode by a GBCS message.
Load limiting events will be recorded in the event log, and will send an alert
via the HAN to the user interface.

I blew my mains fuse, just after batteries and heat pumps were installed 2 years ago.
I was pulling 21 kw from the grid fit about 45 mins before it blew.
National grid were excellent and moved the meter to a safer position.
I had an 80 amp fuse but when they came to sort it out after a fair bit of troubleshooting we located a 60 amp fuse between the fuse board and the mains supply which was pretty dangerous. They by passed the old connections and re-connected everything which wasn’t that easy and had to dig up,-art of the drive.
Managed to get them to put a 100 amp fuse in but they put a 80 amp back up fuse but got my electrician to swap the back up for a 100 amp fuse.
I used 35 kWh yesterday on off peak but my weekend average was 22 kWh anyway so not as lucrative as I could have hoped fix but better than nothing
