let me guess, they'll pay 10 million quid for some open cycle gas power stations to spool up instead.

Todays peak time De-rated Margin is over over 5GW, so very unlikely to need any emergency reserve power.
Tomorrow its currently forecast at just over 2GW so more chance of having one.

Even I was surprised when they didn't allocate all the battery storage. It's not as tight as they made it!
