First real replacement part in van. The 1999 manufactured domestic water pump. Very small weep from the casing join. Not going to strip and repair as it's done it's time. £50 incl delivery for a new unit.

Hopefully I'll find a use for the old unit. The main domestic water pipes in van are now sleeved in the pipe insulation from our old CH system. Will see a dry run or three then insulate the box for sound and cold. Hoping we can proof it down to minus 3 or so for Winter trips away.

1.1 Bar, that will give you 11.2meters of head, say 10m to allow for some friction losses - could you use it to spray water on the panels on the roof to clear snow, debris and muck etc - note the suggestion assumes you don't already have excellent water pressure at the tap.

That is what I was thinking of! If nothing else it gives me something else to do with the stored power from the mighty Turnip!

Both fit nicely with your reuse-reduce ethos JB :xl:

Amazing when the postal service just flows. Pump ordered from supplier in Warwickshire arrived at lunchtime today. :D

Image

Fitted and tested, pipes insulated

Image

There was quite a void of space I wanted to do something with but worried about damp. The pump is dry and air circulation vents are in place. So I invented the freezer bag loosely granny knotted/earthwool insulation type deal.

Image

Got about 18 in there and can still access the water heater dump valve (thanks Fintray)

Image

Also fitted some custom wind deflectors. Will be good in Summer but more than that it let's us leave the windows both 10mm open for 365 Airflow.

Have wind deflectors on my Transporter, leaving the windows down a tad overnight makes a huge difference to moisture on the windscreen first thing in the morning. Well worth the few quid they cost
