UPDATE : Once I involved my original Installer into the Pylontech Warranty Claim process, everything slowed down to a glacial pace.

I have had to push things along with periodic, polite and encouraging Emails to the Installer.

Fortunately, PT(UK) have decided to proceed directly with me - cutting the Installer out of the loop. **
Their courier will/should collect the sick battery unit today.

** Understandably, the Installer (a one-man-trader) wanted to minimise his involvement here. = Extra work without any income.
This is /was his first Pylontech Warranty Claim.

As a glutton for further punishment - I'm interested in getting another US2000C to push nominal capacity up to 9.6kWh.
Installer is looking for near £1300.
A box shifter can do the batt & mini-frame for under £1000.
As I'm doing all the work ( diagnosis, monitoring, Warranty management ) I'm seeing little value in the installers offer.
Thinking of using Solar Trade Sales . . . .
4 kWp Solar PV : 50%/50% SE/SW : Solis Hybrid 3.6 : Pylontec 9.6 kWh
5 kW & 4kW Air-to-Air Mitsubishi Heat Pumps
Ripple : Graig Fatha & Kirk Hill . . . . plus various other renewable projects.
No Car : bicycles : bus & train

You are very unlucky to get a temp sensor failure.

itstechnologies are around £100 cheaper but also depends on the delivery price.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 30MWh generated

Would also try Bimble Solar - similar pricing to ITS

My stack of eight US2000Bs is playing up, alarming, unbalanced etc. so I've bought the Servtec thing.

Connected using a pi and following the instructions to send the incantation to switch from 1200 to 115200 it doesn't work.

This is what I see ...

The bit up to ending FCC3 is what I had to send. Then I get the other stuff back. Switching to 115200 yields nothing.

Any ideas?

I might switch the master battery to see if that might be the issue.

Can't help with the Servtec thing, but have you been ensuring regular full charges on your pylontech's as I believe they only balance at the top end.

1) I assume that you have followed the Servtec instructions for use of minicom precisely.

2) Opening to the Console port by sending the strange character string is a bit of a weird one ( but has always worked, for me, the few times I have HAD to do it ). A few other times I have left-the-console-port open by running BatteryView first and deliberately pulling the cable out while BV still running - as documented by Servtec.
Current daily use of minicon the port stays open on exit, using the Q < quit with no reset > option. . . . Ctl-A, Z, Q

3) Are you getting the "single character response" from the *************FCC3 ?

Finally got BatteryView to work.

Two of my eight US2000 batteries are showing values other than 'Normal' in Voltage Status.

I'm assuming the first is terminal with one 0V and two 'High'.

The second has one 'High'. Do I need to worry about that?

OV is overvolt and the pack will have shut down. HV is high voltage.

Best to download the log files for each. The OV pack will require repair for sure. The other may be fixable with a long slow charge to enable the balancer to bring things back to normal.

The BMS should take care of the imbalance. It will be very slow indeed, possibly taking weeks. However if it is getting worse you should consider opening it up and bleeding some energy out of the highest cell with a resistor.
