I agree, they were fitted on the Bongo when we got it, missed them immediately on 1st drive of the transit. These ones are Heko make, really good fit.

Would anyone know the name of the switch/relay I'd need to change van radio power from crank battery to leisure battery?

Something like this would work it’s similar to mains generator switch for the house but 12 volt..

Re: Van of enormous power Mk 4
Nice one, great page. I think I'll need a double poled unit. So I can ensure separation between crank battery live and LB live if I inadvertently switch on ignition with LB switch in on position. I'd like all electrons to stay where I place them and not flow from crank to LB if I've been listening to classic fm for a day.AGT wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 10:34 am https://www.altecautomotive.co.uk/black ... 9216-p.asp

Wouldn't they both be grounded to the chassis?Joeboy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:09 amNice one, great page. I think I'll need a double poled unit. Re: Van of enormous power Mk 4
Likely enough but I'm non sparky enough that I like the idea of full separation of both poles. It's just me.Stinsy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:36 amWouldn't they both be grounded to the chassis?Joeboy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:09 amNice one, great page. I think I'll need a double poled unit. Re: Van of enormous power Mk 4
I'm just generalising at the moment. Will likely work in a solar panel, controller and inverter too. Got a plan to head to Italy, again vague but I'd like to have some offgrid capability before we go.
I've still to test the current LB to see if it's any good. Idle thoughts while walking the dock. Indiana Jane has booked us for valley of the kings and Karnak, diving tomorrow too. It's all very nice but the brain does spin.

Re: Van of enormous power Mk 4
If you want it to swap over automatically then get a 12V DPST (double pole single throw) normally open relay. When you switch on the ignition the relay closes and provides starter battery power to the radio and when the ignition is off the leisure battery provides the power to the radio.

Re: Van of enormous power Mk 4
You're fine switching +ve only. The van chassis is bonded to the -ve side of both battery systems.Joeboy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:46 amLikely enough but I'm non sparky enough that I like the idea of full separation of both poles.
