Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Down at Aberdeen harbour. 5 of 11 in view were not turning. There might be a 12th concealed behind the maintenance jack ups crane. Nice to watch those that were on

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
We were woken up at midnight by the weather front, almost 5 hours before the worst winds were due to start. I think the angle was just right to allow some of the panels to vibrate and transmit the vibration into the roof beam - stayed doing that till about 4 am. We sat in bed waiting for the worst but even though the wind has increased by twenty mph it’s also swung around more to the SW so the vibration has stopped. A look this morning showed no obvious damage or lose clamps. At 2am the blades at KH were at 16 degrees and average wind was 44mph at 8 am average wind was 55mph and blades were at 28 degrees but still kicking out the power.
Hope everyone is still safe and largely unscathed so far - watching news this morning it looks horrible in some regions.

We have been very fortunate. Awake through the night listening to rain battering down. Winds about 28mph now so a typical blowy day really. ASHP is running at 5.4 this morning. Glad to hear the turbines stayed running. ![Thumbs-up :xl:](./images/smilies/thumbs-up.gif)

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Just had an email:
Hmmm. I guess (hope!) they are doing their best. You are receiving this email because you are a member of Graig Fatha and we wanted to get in touch regarding your Graig Fatha Year 4 Ripple savings.
Previously your savings rate has been set from 1st March for 12 months. Your current rate that has been in effect since 1st March 2024 is 6.5p/kWh.
The new savings period will start from 1st April 2025
We intend to align the savings periods for all Ripple projects with the financial year. This will be particularly beneficial for those members who are owners of multiple projects.
The new Graig Fatha savings period will therefore be set from the 1st April 2025, rather than the 1st March 2025. Your current rate of 6.5p/kWh will therefore remain in place for the month of March.
Your new savings rate to be communicated soon
We are currently working with suppliers on this for both Graig Fatha and Kirk Hill and we will let you know the new Octopus savings rate for Graig Fatha in due course.
This pricing is based on each suppliers' views of the wholesale electricity market during the proposed savings period. Ripple aims to achieve the highest price of power possible with all suppliers for the benefit of members.
When Ripple believes that has been achieved, we calculate the savings rate and will seek approval from your Graig Fatha coop board. Once the board is confident this represents the best value for you the members, they instruct us to confirm the savings rate and publish the details.
If you have any questions please email us support@rippleenergy.com and our member support team will be happy to help.

I suspect a slight increase is coming, that extra 1 months delay may help locking in a slightly higher price. ![FingersCrossed :xx:](./images/smilies/Fingers-Crossed.gif)
I'll be happy if we break the 7p / kWh to exceed my cheapslot import rate.

KH is doing going flat out in the current windy weather, a really good start to February and a good end to January too, after a bit of a slow start KH has recently started to give us a tidy contribution to the bills.
