Hillary's do electric blinds, are national and been around for a fair time - not used them for electric blinds but they did do some roller blonds for the MiL a while back and it was a good service and price competitive.

ASHP & triple glazing
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
It was Farnborough Blinds that I used.
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
What kind of blinds are you going for Joe?
Not electric vs dumb
Roman, roller, pleated, etc etc.
We have roman curtains in the lounge, with the chain to pull them open and closed. We added an aqara device to each of them and have set it to open 30 mins after sunrise and close 30 mins before.
We also have various closing strategies we can enable via alexa.
If you are going for a roller style blind then you can add the aqara to the chainy bit for that, or even better get electric inserts to the tube zemismart do a good one for about 70 quid. You can then get the cheaper dumb blind option made up, or buy off the shelf and add the functionality later.
Home automation guy on youtube has many different electric blind versions he uses that may help if you are looking to modify a dumb blind to smart.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Thank you all, in.particular Nora for the diy automation. I can see the two trapezoidal windows being pro supply & Install and the rest being good quality roller blinds I'd fit myself. I'd be happy to automate them myself too.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Looks like we've got a run of double digit days starting today.

I am now running the tank at 70 deg C and it is working well to give the intermittent three of us constant HW. It will knock the scop at year end but I'm in it for a "everybody happy" environment!

Even with some mild charging/exporting shenanigans we are on track to finish Feb 25 1MWh less bought power than in Feb 2024..

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Nice result.
Hot water is one of my concerns, just have to see how it goes, and play around with tank temperature, 70 degrees seems rather high though.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Just to show the change in states of HP as temperature changes:

A couple of days before the defrost cycles the average temp. was -1.3C and no defrosting needed, on the day of the defrost cycles we had damp snow falling.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
It's.an incredibly personal thing, hot water. You'll find the spot that works for you. We tried 55 and up but tbh I'd rather just pay
To build on Fintrays post, we hit double digit temps today and we're seeing 7+ cop's now & then. Last time was early Jan when we had a fake Spring for a few days. Same result.

Trailing 24hrs, I see it but I don't believe it!
