The ragtag diy enphase & Hoymile outbuilding systems are putting out about 700W combined. That is more than enough to run the HP in space heating mode. Talk about a meeting of world's. 8-)

Absolutely astonishing! :xl:

I know, .
I'll get in touch with Sona direct again tomorrow. Suddenly the £4.2K isn't looking so bad.

A few little details to check and we'll get them ordered as soon as the 3G is in. 5 wks build so should be in for Summer.

At that price you could probably get fancy LCD window glass that goes dark at the touch of a button!

(disclaimer: I've no idea at all what that stuff costs :surrender: )

I.love that, it could work you know!!

SWMBO just came out with a cracker. Let's live with the windows for a bit, see how we feel 😀

Google smart film if you want to check out the switchable frosting to windows

An example here but no affiliation

Frosting would help for privacy but not to omit solar gain - in fact it might make things marginally worse ?

I think that’s a sensible approach, Joe.

We’ve got approx 10 linear metres of doors downstairs.

Don’t have curtains or blinds and have no issues - we’re not overlooked and are in an elevated position so do have a view/interest when it’s dark.

It perhaps would be nice when it’s raining and blowing a hooli - just from the point of closing the night out.

We're also going to look tomorrow at bottom up.blinds to cover the rectangle of the trapezoids and kit out the rest in decent quality rollers.

£7,702 for automated blinds is absolutely mental. So mad that it makes a £4,200 quote look good!

I genuinely think that the £7,702 for blinds is more than the triple glazing costs for those windows.
