Is it Mitsubishi? Not seen one of those yet.
You'd need a very good reason to chose anything other than a Vaillant!

Whle there is the odd Dakin and Mitsu on here, the VAST majority of high-performing setups are Vaillant: https://heatpumpmonitor.org/
I have a Mitsubishi Ecodan 14kW heat pump installed in Portugal. It has been quietly running since 2012. Once set up properly, it has been great. (All teething problems were my own fault since I installed it myself.)

Only problem I'm having is the heat pumps not been delivered, and that's now holding them up.

Apparently it was supposed to be delivered Friday.

It arrived about an hour ago. Hopefully they can get the external work done today now, before the bad weather tomorrow.

is the tall package the new hot water tank ?

Wet miserable windy weather up here in North Wales today, gusting 40mph but we are still just making enough to keep the battery around the same SOC level so I am confident that we can run in to tomorrow without needing a night time charge.

Hope the install goes well for you now and looking forward to the photos as things progress. :xl:

Thanks Moxi.

It's the Valiant uniTower, it contains 190 ltr water tank along with other various parts. I would have liked a bigger tank, but as its in quite a small utility room, the uniTower will look and fit so much better than trying to cram individual components in the same space.

Thats very neat Ronski and I know from an aesthetics POV it would be a winner with my wife but it wouldn't make it through the front door at ours based on measurements and even if it did it would definitely not make the immediate 90 degree turn and pass through the 1700 tall 600 wide door to the play room where we " might" have room for a HWC at a pinch. I'm thinking that more likely for us would be to build a concrete plinth and block wall outbuilding outside and insulate it for a HWC to be fitted outside the main building and water services to be piped through to connect to existing plumbing. Based on a growing family of five and various guides I have arrived at a minimum HWC size of 250 litre with a more sensible 300 litre for our DHW needs and that's a big cylinder to try and fit into an 84square meter floor plan.

The timber up the sides of the heat pump is some nice planed pieces that might come in handy, well it was on my one.

The uniTower does have a trick up its sleeve so to speak, it will separate into two separate parts, top third, and bottom two thirds. It's actually shorter than our full height fridge freezer, which we have to tip over at angle to get it into the utility room.

It sounds like you have a plan though, which is good especially as you need a bigger tank.

Thanks, hopefully it will, but there's a bit of head scratching going on at the moment. They've got a couple of extra boxes of parts they've not used on previous uniTower installs, but have been told they need them. One seems to be a drinking water expansion vessel part number 0020180979, not sure what the other is, but seems to be some pressure relief valves and flexi pipes.
