The one trapezoidal that survived its 11 day stay with the window suppliers is the single unit. The unit that is linked to a further two windows via the welded cill.is the one that was smashed.
When I have the discussion at the end of the job I'll be reminding the installers of this mail we sent on the 21st April.

Morning Claire,
We were having a walk about the village this morning discussing the upcoming works. The one potential failure point that we can see is a repeat of the broken trapezoidal glazing units.
What are we doing to ensure that there is no reoccurrence of that? From our end we can offer onsite storage in our house for the glazing units. This can be from anytime we return home 25th April through to fitting date. The only dates we can't offer to be there are 1st & 2nd May.
I am very much hoping you guys have these units stored somewhere already in your control but can only ask.
Cheers
Joe & Catherine "
I may also have caught a lie yesterday. The window supplier said oh this is the first unit that has been broken. The only other thing was a huge delay in the lead time on the trapezoidals. She then backpedaled and fluffed oh yeah, I'd forgot blah blah blah. This means that the installers lied to me to cover themselves for not ordering the fancy glazing in enough time even though they had five months to act.
I am trying to be philosophical about this as it doesn't affect the outcome of the job but I can't stand liars. I am also now seeing the limitations of a smaller company trying to grow.
Then a glazing unit is broken anyway...which brings the lie to light, which then costs the supply company as they've got to pay a lot more to fast track a replacement glazing unit through another company to cover the imaginary broken unit delay which was a late order....Lies eh? Don't do it kids, they will get ye in the end!
