Congratulations Nowty, it’s another brilliant day forecast for tomorrow too so I’m expecting you to hit the Dalmatian pb record tomorrow :praise:

Picked up my storage heater tonight so you can put me down for 24kW of thermal on the stats.

similar start to the day here, while walking the puppy (now larger than the Labradors and weighing 34kg ) I stopped to use the Merlin App that Ivan mentioned and within seconds I had logged chaffinch, jack daws, wrens, robin, chiffchaff, carrion crow, magpie, starlings, collard doves etc etc Its a great app and a fabulous day - ruined by the fact that I will be in a teams meeting for 7 hours of it

LOL I wish, dogs and 3 year old in garden and nesting sparrow chicks calling for food plus we have the waller in rebuilding all the drystone walls around the cottage so constant background noise out there so I'm in the coldest corner of the cottage with my hoody on !

Andy the waller is doing a fab job, we think that the wall was last extended in the 50's when its height was raised but the bottom section according to him is circa 1860 - same as the first phase of the cottage. Found some nice glass items buried in the core of the wall here and there but sadly no marble stopper bottles - he has found quite a few of those over the years apparently.

I managed to nip out and pop the pool heater in the pool earlier to warm it up ready for the kids after school - its a bit decadent but its one of their luxuries that I wont skimp on.
