Think their Guardian Angel was watching over them !
Fraction of a second or a few extra mph difference and it could have been a different story.

I felt sick watching it. You can almost feel the mass.

Re: Lifesaving Tesla
Agree. I think the ‘pallet’ of slabs landed on the bonnet, the loose stuff hitting higher up - pure conjecture though.
I always have a degree of hesitation when I see heavily loaded lorries coming towards me - some of the hay ones look particularly dodge.
Think it’s having experienced a big, long , heavy chunk of metal coming off a flat bed just in front of me on the M5. Time slowed, I moved over to the side, the guy in the lane next to me did the same, but opposite movement as this 2-3 metre thing cartwheeled between us.
We take things so for granted, don’t we

The Model 3 is an exceptionally strong crash structure, but goodness me that is quite something isn't it.
Hideous, and also a testament to modern engineering.

Re: Lifesaving Tesla
The carnage I used to see in Egypt was mental. Massive unstable loads, crazy driving, crashes before and after. Made me very wary of HGV's, I don't trust private trailers either. Time slowing down is a great indicator of an NDE!Bugtownboy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 9:19 am Agree. Re: Lifesaving Tesla
I bet the drivers cabin plate with "Crazy" was the first thing to be whipped out of the cab before the police arrived.
Who bears responsibility for that load at point of loading? (I know the driver is meant to make checks) ..wondering how blame is apportioned, there is a massive lawsuit likely forthcoming from that never mind just mere insurance.
(would like to know how fast each vehicle was going, especially the lorry for all that weight shift)
I too shrink somewhat in my seat when I encounter a load like that in close proximity, natural preservation response & previous close call with a "spear of destiny"

Re: Lifesaving Tesla
Criminal liability lies with the driver. Doesn’t matter who loaded it, the driver is responsible. Financial liability is with the 3rd party insurance.Mr Gus wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 1:25 pm I bet the drivers cabin plate with "Crazy" was the first thing to be whipped out of the cab before the police arrived.
