Just looked again at the changeover diagram; if you want to do that, might better to keep the neutrals shared and just switch the lives about. The iboost does this ion the manual or timed boost functions anyway.
Still wondering if the iboost can achieve what you want to with its own timer though?!

Cheers Gareth, the issue is isolating the load running to the immersion from one or the other. No backfeeding allowed it seems. Is that safe as if the hive is pulled out of the socket or the plug in the hive is pulled out the neutral is connected and could possibly be live under fault conditions?

I'm obviously missing something, if the Hive or plug is pulled out surely both the live and neutral are disconnected - what fault would leave the neutral live?

As above. If something is unplugged, it's unplugged.
No problem sharing neutrals - the iboost uses a normal neutral whether it's heating the coil by pwm, or full beans boost mode 230V AC.
What I was wondering is; why the hive? I'm guessing it's so you can split diverted energy between two or more loads with two or more iboost type devices, using hive units to cleverly flip flop between wherever you want the dumped energy to go. Which is fair enough.
As an alternative, how about this for an idea;
You program you iboost to "boost" at whatever times of the night you might ever want to boost and use your hive to flip between diverting electric and boosting.
In the day, if you want to divert with a different proportional diverter elsewhere, you fire the hive to "boost" except it won't boost as the iboost programmer isn't set to allow boosting in the day. If you want to boost in the night, you set the hive to boost and it will boost as the iboost programmer has been set to boost. And you don't need to go into the loft to flip switches about.
Any use?

Oh, I thought of another way, if you did ever want the option for daytime boosting too;
Bring the hive back up as the main supply, it wakes the iboost up whenever you want it on in the daytime.
Still set the iboost to boost whenever you may want boosting in the nighttime and, if you want nighttime boosting, fire the hive.
If you want daytime boosting, use the 15minute incremental boost function on the iboost as per usual.
One final note, stick with 16 or ideally 20A kit for the wiring. And 2.5mm flex/t&e. I don't know if it's the pwm flavour electric or what but it seems disproportionately hard on stuff.

Sorry my error, I was thinking their was another supply to the iBoost.
I'm getting lost here though, what is the point of the hive here? I thought it was to act as a boost when the iboost wasn't using excess PV, not to turn the iBoost off and on.
