Hyundai Ioniq 5
Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5
looking very smart JB, I bet you are getting fidgety now waiting for the big day
The more i see that car (film 4 have it on a lot) the more i like it. A while yet for us to have the cash to be able to consider BEV but it never hurts to dream!

Hey Moxi,
Never stop thinking dreaming. We as Humes can do HUGE things doing just that. Sit, veg, draw shapes in sand and then CLICK, off to the races! Excited.... do ye think? I am literally tripping on this!

First drive is going to be a proper long cross country affair.
Have you a guarantee of min charge level on pickup ?

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5
Asked that very question, its going to be fully charged. Currently trying to talk to insurer as car is not on DVLA database yet! Gonna stick on Pulse, set cruise control at 60mph and waft gently up the road.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5
As we are all typically old EV hands, even if it wasn't fully charged it would hardly pose a problem these days, the pleasure of bum in seat anticipation & a getting to know you drive far outweigh a 60% charge upon taking delivery.
A good sign though that they've put her up to 100% to get you on your way away from the godless southern heathen

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5
Its almost 200 miles to Gretna, I reckon I'd be thinking of an interim top up around Lancaster as you don't want squeaky bum time on your first drive.
Note - I find the figures on this website are pretty spot on for my TM3.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5
Cool, will look at that, see if I can find some 350's in the Lancaster area for the first charge in my hands. I like the Octopus Electric Juice app as can filter nice and easy so its just the big units shown. Just cueing up my USB stick with screeds of 80's tracks for the run.nowty wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 11:38 am Its almost 200 miles to Gretna, I reckon I'd be thinking of an interim top up around Lancaster as you don't want squeaky bum time on your first drive.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5
If we didn't have our Nephews passing our parade i'd likely have spent a few days in Wales and brought SWMBO down with me. I signed up for a Hyundai card via Ionity and I think that gets me 1/2 price on their chargers. Will go down with 3 charge cards and hopefully futureproof us for France later in the year. Its just hitting me what i've done here. A lot of the decsion so far in this has been problem solving based so no emotion. When the photos arrived yesterday and i saw the swank interior that changed!Mr Gus wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 11:31 am As we are all typically old EV hands, even if it wasn't fully charged it would hardly pose a problem these days, the pleasure of bum in seat anticipation & a getting to know you drive far outweigh a 60% charge upon taking delivery.

Its a 430 mile run and I expect to do it in around 8-9 hours. Should be clear from dealer by 10am as my night train gets me in for breakfast about 7am Tuesday, couple a mile walk to dealer and first customer thru door. That gets me home about 7pm and a chance to trial the HUD at night. Pretty stoked for this now!
