Got to be thankful for whatever we get at this time of year, think today could have been the best day so far this year if I'd got my arse in gear sooner and cleared the snow off the panels.

Sounds like a lovely day north of the border, overcast and bitingly cold today so only 1.8kWh but every bit helps, nice log fire going this evening.

Rest of the week is looking rough and overcast, tomorrow we are even back to sixty mph winds most of the day.

At least Thursday looks like a washing day with good sunny spells forecast as the wife told me.

It was here anyway, clear and cold (0-1 degrees) and little wind, our wood burner churning out the kWh's also.

Same here Iain,I am very happy at the electricity offsetting that the WS can bring as well as spaceheating like a champ.

We still have 58% soc right now in the stack which I never expected in Feb. I reckon about 30% of that comes from kettles not ran today as well as a dormant tumble dryer. That excess power not used is spaceheating upstairs bedroom instead of GCH this evening. I groove on ideas like that. 👍

Brilliant day iog splitting on solar PV. A little bit of RE cooking. Pasta sauce, tortellini, veg stir fry and a true resource hog, slow cooked sticky red cabbage with apples. That last one takes a good 8 hours to do.properly.

A bit of a duller day today. No PB's! In saying that, enough coming in to charge car a little and also chuck some power from batteries at HWT. Helped this happen by offsetting electricity via a bit of a double batch chilli bacon pasta sauce on the woodstove. That plus the woodstove kettle adds up.

I feel very fortunate to have multiple solutions to turn to days scenario depending.

Hi Joe

Would you mind sharing the recipe for the sticky red cabbage?

No problem
Half red cabbage
1 red onion
2 red apple
Malt vinegar or red cider vinegar
Dark brown sugar

Chop it all small, fry onion in a knob of butter. Add all to big pan, cook until soft then add more brown sugar and vinegar and continue to reduce. About 5 hours until soft and gooey. :D
